Our board-certified team of physicians

Joseph Daniel Davis, MD

Joseph Daniel Davis, MD - Chandler, Gilbert, Casa Grande, Ahwatukee Foothills, Maricopa, East Mesa, Sun Lakes, Queen CreekI enjoy the combination of clinical work, procedures and problem-solving. I also enjoy the excellent variety of patient interactions in outpatient and inpatient settings. But what I most enjoy is therapeutic procedures that give me a chance to do something or fix something for my patients. My style is calm and relaxed. I am a good listener and I use humor when I can.

“What I hope to give my patients is the peace of mind of knowing that someone is working with them to find the problem and treat it. I don’t rush people. I’m happy to take the time to explain the patient’s condition and treatment options.”

In his free time, Dr. Davis enjoys fishing, hiking, mountain biking, off-road driving and spending time with his wife, two sons and their Labrador retriever. He also enjoys reading about economics and geopolitics.

Emma Janet Castillo, MD, MsC

Emma Janet Castillo, MD, MsC - Chandler, Gilbert, Casa Grande, Ahwatukee Foothills, Maricopa, East Mesa, Sun Lakes, Queen Creek“For me, trust is the keystone upon which I form the relationships with my patients. Trust is important when asking a patient to share details of problems that can often be embarrassing. And trust is important when asking a patient to let me help them solve their problems, some of which may have been ongoing for years. In order to build that trust, I show my patients warmth and compassion, I listen fully and intently, and I show my patients a warmer side of medicine. My parents immigrated from El Salvador and made it a point to raise me bilingual. This helps me connect more deeply with a group of patients who might not otherwise be completely understood.

“I enjoy the clinical variety that Gastroenterology provides. The complexity of the health and disease of the GI tract challenges my mind. At the same time, I always enjoy the hands-on element that the procedures provide. I am methodical and detail-oriented on the one hand, yet warm and friendly on the other. I always make sure to educate my patients fully, so they can make informed decisions and take an active role in their own care.”

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Castillo drags her family to the beach as often as possible. She also enjoys playing princess with her young daughter, getting lost in comedy and action movies/TV, and rooting for the Denver Broncos with her borderline fanatical husband.

Brendan Harris Maxwell Levy, MD

Brendan Harris Maxwell Levy, MD - Chandler, Gilbert, Casa Grande, Ahwatukee Foothills, Maricopa, East Mesa, Sun Lakes, Queen Creek“You have to have a certain sense of humor and humility to do GI work. I really enjoy the combination of procedures, clinical work with patients and treating disorders of the intestinal system. I like being able to see a person, listen to their issues and then diagnose the problem and treat it as quickly and effectively as possible.

“I am relaxed, open and honest with my patients. Having been born in Australia, lived in Asia and in Europe and educated in America, I have a global, multicultural view that helps me relate to people from all walks of life. My hope is to give them peace of mind through compassionate care, honesty and information they can trust.”

In his free time, Dr. Levy enjoys running, hiking, outdoor activities and reading all kinds of books. He is also quite involved in his son’s rock climbing endeavors and competitions. He is also on a personal mission to become a more understanding, compassionate person.

Abraham M. Panossian , MD

Abraham M. Panossian , MD - Chandler, Gilbert, Casa Grande, Ahwatukee Foothills, Maricopa, East Mesa, Sun Lakes, Queen Creek“I found this field very interesting because so many people suffer from GI ailments from the simple to the complex. Gastroenterology covers broad aspects of medicine as the GI tract is the largest organ system and has complex interactions with almost every other organ in the body. It requires critical analytical skills as well as hands-on manual skills to help people.

“I devote the majority of my time listening to my patients, but I also believe that educating patients about their diseases and how to live healthier lives is the most important investment I can make in them. I believe in honest and clear communications with my patients, with my role being their consultant who helps guide their decision-making. I also want to instill an overall healthier attitude toward living, especially as it pertains to diet, exercise and disease prevention.”

Dr. Panossian has also done a good deal of charitable work in third-world countries, and he often volunteers his time to help others both at home and abroad. In his free time, Dr. Panossian enjoys reading, cooking with his family and playing table tennis.

Rajan Khosla , MD

Rajan Khosla , MD - Chandler, Gilbert, Casa Grande, Ahwatukee Foothills, Maricopa, East Mesa, Sun Lakes, Queen Creek“GI issues such as GERD and IBS are rampant. Gastroenterology gives me greater understanding of the GI tract and mastery of the most advanced GI procedures. The GI tract is not isolated. It has numerous extra-intestinal manifestations that affect other systems in the body.

“I hope to give my patients knowledge about their conditions, as well as effective and safe treatments. I want to help them avoid the ER, hospitalizations and surgeries and give them a better quality of life. I believe that all patients can be helped if we listen to them carefully enough and delve deep enough into their health and family histories.”

In his free time, Dr. Khosla enjoys playing Scrabble and ping-pong. He is also involved in AYSO youth soccer.

Gregory H. Nguyenduc , MD

Gregory H. Nguyenduc , MD - Chandler, Gilbert, Casa Grande, Ahwatukee Foothills, Maricopa, East Mesa, Sun Lakes, Queen Creek“What interests me about gastroenterology and hepatology is caring for patients with digestive diseases that are wide-ranging – from heartburn/reflux and stomach ulcers, to liver diseases such as hepatitis B and C, gallbladder and pancreatic diseases, to intestinal diseases such as celiac sprue (gluten allergy), Crohn’s and colon cancer. I like the balance between a clinical environment and the ability to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as endoscopy to help diagnose and manage my patients.

“I believe that one of my most important responsibilities is to clearly communicate with my patients regarding their illness. I believe that a patient needs to be aware and educated and therefore involved in their own healthcare. I hope to give my patients quality and compassionate care as a provider with clear communication, understanding and knowledge of their health condition.”

Dr. Nguyenduc is also involved with the Asian Pacific Community in Action (apcaaz.org) of Maricopa County regarding hepatitis B education and outreach. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, tennis and hiking – all spending time with his family.

Adam Lowe , MD, FACG

Adam Lowe , MD, FACG - Chandler, Gilbert, Casa Grande, Ahwatukee Foothills, Maricopa, East Mesa, Sun Lakes, Queen Creek“I enjoy the pathophysiology and anatomy of the GI system and liver. I enjoy the mix of doing procedures and critical care. I can help patients prevent GI illness, and I can treat and comfort those who already have GI or liver disease.

“I am an excellent listener and spend a good deal of time with my patients, especially to get to know them as people and not just patients. My hope is to give every patient outstanding care and comfort aimed at preventing and treating illness. I am very caring and concerned about my patients and treat them like family.”

In his free time, Dr. Lowe enjoys cooking, swimming and spending time with his family. He is also very active in his children’s school.

Swarnjit Singh , MD, MRCP - Chandler, Gilbert, Casa Grande, Ahwatukee Foothills, Maricopa, East Mesa, Sun Lakes, Queen Creek“I enjoy helping people and using my skills to improve patients’ health. It begins with having a high awareness of their needs, then being open and methodical and giving them my best care. I am proud to have helped over 10,000 patients since I began over 20 years ago.

“I hope to give every patient compassionate, excellent care. I strive to address their individual needs while using all my training, experience and skill to give them great results and a better, happier quality of life.”
